Moate Community School Games Committee is a committee of 14 members whose purpose is to aid the school's sports deprtment. The committe consists of 13 students in ty, 5th and 6th year and Mr. Hatton. The members are present on the basketball and soccer courts every lunch time to ensure everything runs smoothly. They also organise and run various leagues and competitions with all years to try and encourge everyone to get involved in sport in some way.
The committee also has a role in sports days and open days to help with the promotion of sport in our school.

€1 per person to enter – all monies raised will go towards lunchtime sports equipment.
Competitions take place at lunchtime in the school gym.

Real Madrid Win the First Year Soccer League
Real Madrid came out on top in a thrilling final against Barcelona, winning by 4 goals to 3. Well done to all those who took part in a very sucessful league.

I promised I would keep you posted, so here it is.
So far, there has been 24 matches played between the various teams.
At the top of the table, we have Real Madrid with 9 points.
In second place we have AC Milan with 6 points.
In third place, we have Barcelona with 4 points.
Next up is Man United and Chelsea with 3 points each.
After that we have Bayern Munich with 2 points.
Next we have Liverpool with one point,
And last in the table is Celtic with no points.
The Intertoto Cup Final will take place on Friday October 2nd between Team 4 in Group 1 and Team 4 in Group 2.
The list of names and teams is on the Games Committee notice board, so keep checking to make sure your up to date.
There are great prizes to be won, so don't miss out! Be there with your team-mates at Lunch time, if you're not in, you can't win!

First Year Soccer Tournament
This year's games went underway on Thursday 24th September. All matches will be played in The courts at lunch time. Keep an eye on the Games Committee noticeboard for details of teams and match dates. We will keep you posted on the scores and details of each match.
